A HISTORY OF HIGH-QUALITY FURNITURE & SERVICE

Our founder, Marshall Kendall, believed if he could showcase in an old New England-style setting – furniture built in the old Yankee craftsman tradition with its beauty and functionality, and made to last a lifetime – people would come.

Green Mountain Furniture opened alongside Route 16 in Ossipee, NH back in 1975 as an 800 square foot furniture & antique shop by Marshall Kendall. 43 years later, his sons and daughter operate a 60,000 square foot showroom and warehouse, with their children’s involvement in the family business already becoming a reality.

Green Mountain Furniture has grown along with the communities around it. We have made a commitment to a high standard of quality and service. We deliver throughout New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

It has been over 45 years since Green Mountain Furniture first opened its doors. While the times have passed and we have grown, that belief has not changed.

The At-Home Environment

We have grown and broadened the horizons when it comes to furnishing your home. We still believe in providing an “at home” and comfortable environment, yet we have a selection of furniture on our floor larger than most in New Hampshire, and New England. While we can’t have every possible piece of furniture available showcased on our floor, our warehouse is attached to our building, and what we don’t have immediately we can always order!

Green Mountain Furniture is not a big box company store with the bottom line in mind, we are a family-owned business; working to provide a secure living for the families we employ, while offering quality solutions for customers and their homes. We are people helping people, and we feel that’s what sets us apart from the rest.

Offering Furniture Offline

We feel we may never be able to conduct business transactions online because we can’t put the atmosphere and aura of our store on the Internet. We are more than just a place to buy furniture. We are a place to come experience, enjoy, and discover the potential for your own home. Furniture is about more than price, size, and color. Feel and comfort are the most crucial factors in making a decision. Furniture can never be sat on or touched through the web, so our goal here is to provide you with information and the opportunity to come see all the possibilities we have to offer.

People Helping People

Communication is vital. Tell us what you want & we will work to meet that need. As people, we want to build relationships with our customers that can last throughout the lives of their families and ours. As people, we know how we would want to be treated while shopping for important investments; and we know the desire for an honest reliable business that has our interests in mind, not just the quick sale. We feel the continued return of so many of our customers is testimony to that. We don’t manufacture our own products; we are a retailer of many product lines, collections, and companies — but we stand behind what we offer — we pride ourselves on the service we offer to customers so when something goes wrong, we work with you to help fix it.

Prevention is important!

Green Mountain Furniture offers protective stain treatment and warranty protection through Guardsman for upholstery and leather. We also have our own repairman on staff if a problem arises with furniture purchased from our store. See the bottom of our FAQ to learn more.
